The parquet for this project, located in Lavasan, was completely customised to meet the design of the space. We worked with solid wood and opted for a solution with narrow and long measurements which resulted in a very attractive finish.
We used a rather light shade and since the client was fond of wood natural colours we used a touch of white to inject some natural spirit into the space. The result was a flooring with a calm and natural look and feel.
One key challenge for this project was the basement which houses a party area with an adjoining swimming pool. We had to ensure our choice of material and finishing would create enough protection against the humidity of the basement and the pool. Also, given the area was a party room, the parquet had to be hardwearing and protected against drinks spills. We used Single Oil technique throughout and the result is a lively flooring with good vibes while it is also protective and hardwearing.
